Landscape Manager
Dallas Country Club, founded in 1896, is seeking a Landscape Manager, to join our team effective immediately. An 18-hole private country club, DCC is the oldest private club in Texas and one of the most prestigious clubs in America (Platinum Club of America Top 150 Country Clubs). The Club is located within the community of Highland Park, Texas (4 miles north of downtown).
The Landscape Manager will oversee all aspects of landscaping and grounds maintenance to ensure the aesthetic beauty, health, and safety of the club’s outdoor areas. This role will involve managing the grounds team, coordinating landscape projects, and maintaining high standards for the club’s appearance.
Key Responsibilities:

Team Management & Leadership:
- Supervise and lead a team of groundskeepers and landscaping staff.
- Delegate tasks and manage daily schedules to ensure efficient and effective landscape operations.
- Provide training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Perform regular performance evaluations for grounds crew and ensure adherence to safety protocols.

Landscape Maintenance:
- Oversee the maintenance of all outdoor areas, including the golf course, gardens, clubhouse exterior, parking areas, and walking paths.
- Ensure consistent mowing, trimming, edging, and seasonal care for plantings, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
- Manage irrigation systems to maintain healthy landscapes while minimizing water consumption.
- Address any issues related to pest control, turf health, and soil quality.

Project Management:
- Plan and execute landscape improvement projects, including plant installations, seasonal displays, and aesthetic enhancements.
- Collaborate with other departments and external contractors for large-scale projects.
- Ensure timely completion of projects within budgetary constraints.

Budget Management & Inventory Control:
- Assist in the development and management of the landscape department’s budget.
- Monitor and control inventory levels for landscaping materials, tools, and equipment.
- Recommend purchasing decisions based on needs and budget limitations.

Sustainability & Environmental Stewardship:
- Promote eco-friendly practices, such as sustainable plant selection, water conservation, and waste reduction.
- Implement best practices for organic lawn care and environmentally responsible landscape management.

Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure all landscape activities comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and Dallas Country Club’s policies.
- Maintain and enforce safety protocols for the landscaping team, including equipment usage and chemical handling.

Member Relations:
- Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor while working closely with club members and guests.
- Address any concerns or requests from members related to the landscape and grounds.
Educational Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, landscape management, turf management, or a related field (preferred).
- Certified Landscape Professional (CLP) or other relevant certifications (a plus).
Experience Requirements
At least 5 years of experience in landscape management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role, preferably within a golf course or country club environment.

- Proficient in using landscaping equipment and technology, including irrigation systems and landscape design software.

- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials as needed.
- Must be able to operate landscaping machinery and equipment.
