Due to significant growth we are looking for an enthusiastic Sales business development manager, based in Southern California. The Key market sectors for Wessex are Golf course, Sports turf, Sod producer, Municipal, ATV & Tractor dealers. After being established in the US for many years, we have a strong team located throughout the country who you will work along side.

 

The Role

Due to significant growth we are looking for an enthusiastic Sales business development manager, based in Southern California. You will be responsible for sales in California and surrounding states (AZ, NV, UT, OR, WA).  You will be required to support current customers and hunt for new business through prospecting to new dealers and end users. You will need to be practical, hands-on, enthusiastic sales person who has the personal capacity and drive to grow our existing sales using your own initiative and with support from the Wessex team. The majority of your time will be spent in Southern CA, visiting dealers and end users, however travel to surrounding states will be required periodically. You will enjoy the day to day variety that the role brings!

 

The primary functions of this field-based role are to:

 

  • Strengthen the relationship with our dealer network, as well as maintain and develop strong links with end-user customers
  • Grow our sales throughout the territory covering California and surrounding states (AZ, NV, UT, OR, WA). There may be the requirement to travel further afield for trade shows, events, training & other customer visits.
  • Develop and act on leads to closure, partnering with our trusted dealer network to build relationships and recommend solutions.
  • The ability to confidently carry out on site demonstrations to customers.
  • To take ownership of the results for the territory.

 

The Candidate

Experience in selling, influencing and negotiating directly with equipment dealers and target end user markets.

 

  • Ambitious and a real passion for building customer relationships
  • Passionate about growing the territory and working toward a target
  • A track record of delivering solid sales results.
  • Self-initiated and able to manage time to maximise earning potential.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to influence others and collaborate within Wessex departments
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and negotiating skills
  • Valid driving licence and the ability to tow a trailer with machinery.
  • The need and the ability to use the company CRM system to help manage customer follow-up and support. Training is given
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
