Assistant Superintendent

Multi Course Management Company is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Golf Course Superintendent with high attention to detail and organizational skills to join our team.  The Assistant should have a strong work ethic and a desire to excel in the business.  The Assistant will be involved in and or manage the fertilizer and pesticide applications as well as proper record keeping and application practices.  Daily jobs will include job scheduling, irrigation repair, disease identification, and moisture management.

 

Experience Requirements

- Ability to work independently to carry out written and verbal instructions

- Ability to visually inspect the golf course conditions and clubhouse grounds

- Good organizational and prioritization skills

- Well versed in Microsoft office and TORO SitePro irrigation software

- Possess a pesticide and fertilizer license / ability to obtain within 90 days

- Experience operating most, if not all, golf course maintenance equipment

- Practical knowledge of operating spreaders, sprayers, and moisture meter

- Team oriented, willing to listen, present ideas, and lead

- Able to promote a safe work environment through training and PPE

- Must have a valid driver’s license

- Required to lift at least 50 Lbs. and work outside in the South Florida weather

- Passion for the game, with a strong commitment to the profession

- Evaluate and manage the staff performance on a daily basis

- Ability to run the maintenance operation in the absence of the Superintendent

- Energetic, clean, neat, innovative thinker and able to adapt well to a changing environment

- Knowledge of Southern turf grass

- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

- Experience handling multi-cultural staff and abilities to speak Spanish and Creole are a plus

- Experience operating and understanding of the irrigation system and able to diagnose electrical issues pertaining to the irrigation control system.

- Experience managing moisture on playing surfaces with moisture meter and hand watering practices
