Foxfire Golf and Country Club, a bundled golf community located in the heart of the golf capital of the world, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to help lead its dedicated maintenance team to deliver a higher standard of excellence. This critical role reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and offers an opportunity to contribute to the ongoing excellence of a proud club atmosphere while spearheading ambitious renovations planned in years to come.

Position Highlights

• Maintenance Staff: 27 full-time employees
• Annual Budget: Operational: $3.2M | Capital: $500K–$1M
• Irrigation System: Rainbird Pro system installed in 2021
• Turf Types: Tif-Eagle greens, Bimini Bermudagrass tees, fairways, and rough
• Future Projects:
  • Bulkhead installation in summer of 2025
  • Cart path renovation TBD
  • Drill and Fill on greens in efforts to pro-long the lifespan
• Typical work hours:  40-50 hours per week year round including a scheduled shift every other weekend

Key Knowledge, Skills, Aptitude and Other Traits:

1. Operational Excellence:
   • Assist in budget and capital planning alongside the Golf Course Superintendent.
   • Lead the maintenance team to retrain and develop new practices at a higher standard.
   • Oversee chemical and fertilizer application, irrigation management, and agronomic activities.
2. Team Development:
   • Foster a positive work culture through training, mentoring, and motivation.
   • Develop team members for growth into leadership roles.
3. Compliance & Safety:
   • Maintain adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
   • Integrate safety best practices into daily operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in Turfgrass Management or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive golf course maintenance experience.
• 2+ years of leadership and administrative experience.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 (DOE)
