Assistant Superintendent
New Albany Country Club is in New Albany OH just northeast of Columbus. Designed by the "Golden Bear" Jack Nicklaus, New Albany C.C. is a 27-hole facility offering different layouts from links style to wooded, tight fairways. N.A.C.C. opened in 1992 and was built to the most exacting standards as a focal point for the community – the bar was set high to be one of the best Country Clubs in the nation. N.A.C.C. also offers amenities as good as any club in the country ranging from our 16 tennis courts, including grass and clay, multiple pools, and a full size croquet court mowed at green height. The First Assistant Golf Course Superintendent at New Albany Country Club will assist the Golf Course Superintendent in overseeing all aspects of golf course maintenance and agronomic practices. This includes ensuring excellent playing conditions, managing personnel, and coordinating resources effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in planning, coordinating, and supervising all golf course maintenance activities.
· Train, schedule, and manage the maintenance team, ensuring efficient operation.
· Assist with the irrigation systems, pesticide applications, and water management.
· Conduct routine inspections of the golf course to maintain optimal turf health.
· Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations related to environmental and safety standards.
· Support the superintendent in budgeting, purchasing, and record-keeping.
Educational Requirements
Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or related field preferred.
Experience Requirements
Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience, with prior supervisory responsibilities.
Knowledge of modern turfgrass management techniques, irrigation systems, and pest control.
Valid pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain within 90 days.
Excellent leadership, problem solving, and communication skills.
Special Requirements
Work primarily outdoors subject to various weather conditions.
Requires working on weekends and holidays during the growing season.
Physical demands include bending, lifting, and prolonged standing
