Seasonal Intern
The Des Moines Golf & Country Club is a prominent golf and country club located in West Des Moines, Iowa. It is known for its high-quality golf courses, elegant amenities, and rich history in the local community. The Des Moines Golf & Country Club was founded in 1897 and has since grown into one of the premier golf and social clubs in the region. The Club was established to provide a private, upscale environment for golf enthusiasts and their families. The Club is renowned for its two Pete Dye championship golf courses, the South Course and North Course, each with its own unique and demanding layouts.
The turfgrass intern aids the Assistant Superintendents, Golf Course Superintendent and the Director of Grounds in the leadership and execution of work schedules and maintenance programs.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Involved in the daily maintenance of two golf courses, North and South, and will work closely with the Superintendents and Assistants.

Interns will learn fertilizer/pesticide calibration as well as proper application practices.

Interns will have multiple opportunities to operate sprayers and top dressers on fairways, tee boxes, or practice facilities.

Daily jobs will include but not limited to course setup, irrigation repair, equipment operation, and water management on USGA and push up greens.

Interns will also be exposed to the equipment maintenance side of the operation, including basic oil changes, reel and bedknife grinding, etc..

Position is available Spring of 2025 through Summer/Fall of 2025
Educational Requirements
- Either attending a turfgrass/horticulture program or interested in attending a turfgrass/horticulture program in the future.
Experience Requirements
- Preferred to have some experience working on a golf course or related industry but not necessary.
