Course Description
American Dunes Golf Club is currently seeking a highly motivated, and skilled Equipment Manager to join our team. American Dunes is an 18 hole public facility located in Grand Haven, Michigan. American Dunes was reimagined by Jack Nicklaus in 2020 and will forever stand as a tribute to our military and to commemorate the birthplace of The Folds of Honor. Going into our fifth season off a Nicklaus renovation, our club's goal is to give our guests an experience unlike any other in the nation, as soon as they step foot on property.
Educational Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in equipment maintenance and repair, with previous experience in a golf course setting being highly desirable. A keen attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are crucial for success in this role. The Equipment Manager must be able to prioritize tasks effectively, while working both independently and as part of the team. The right candidate will have the willingness to inherit, and help grow the team culture.

High school diploma or equivalent; previous golf course experience is a plus.

General understanding of all types of engines, hydraulics, pumps, electronics, etc.

Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems both in the shop and out in the field

Ability to weld, and fabricate

Must have excellent mechanical and problem-solving skills

Experience using reel and bed-knife grinders or willingness to learn (Will train right person)

The employee is often required to stand, walk, bend and kneel for hours at a time without sitting.

The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs

Valid driver's license

General knowledge using computers Microsoft Office, email, etc.
Experience Requirements
As the Equipment Manager, you will play a vital role in helping to achieve our club goals by making sure all equipment is operating at peak performance. You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all golf course equipment and machinery. You will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to ensure that all equipment is properly serviced and operational.

Communicate daily with the Superintendent and Assistants in regard to equipment availability, repairs, and scheduling

Accurate record keeping for maintenance performed for all equipment

Maintains a preventative maintenance program within the budget on all equipment, purchases, repairs, ordering parts, and replacing necessary supplies.

Inspect and adjust equipment quality of cut and height of cut

Sharpen reels and bed-knives

Maintain a clean shop area and keep it orderly and efficient

Monitor gas and fuel levels in storage tanks

Manage a monthly / annual equipment repair budget

Order and manage inventory of equipment parts, fuels, lubricants, tools, and shop supplies

Oversee and ensure the cleanliness and organizational integrity of the maintenance facility

Oversee and ensure the maintenance facility is operating in a safe and sound manner while complying with all OSHA and CA state regulations

Recommends equipment purchases and leases and performs other duties as directed by the Golf Course Superintendent.
