The 18- hole award winning design merges modern golf course architecture with the rolling topography of central Virginia. The surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains provide a serene backdrop for the challenging course. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1.     Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Oversee and perform regular maintenance and repairs on all department machinery, such as mowers, tractors, sprayers, utility vehicles, and small power tools to ensure that they are in excellent working condition.

2.     Upholding standards: Ensure mower blades and cutting heights are sharp and set properly to achieve high quality playing surfaces and results.

3.     Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule to extend the lifespan of equipment and minimize downtime.

4.     Equipment Inspections: Conduct regular equipment inspections to identify issues and rectify them properly.

5.     Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of all tools, parts, and supplies necessary for equipment maintenance including ordering replacements and managing stock levels.

6.     Budget management: Work with Golf Course Superintendent to prepare and manage the budget for equipment maintenance and purchases, ensuring cost effectiveness.

7.     Personnel Management: Teach, train, assist supervise, coach, counsel, schedule and evaluate golf course mechanic support staff in maintenance and repairs concerning the safe and effective operation of equipment.

8.     Record Keeping: Keep detailed records of equipment inventory, maintenance activities, and repairs in digital or electronic technology format.

9.     Collaboration:  Collaborate with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent to align equipment use with maintenance schedules and course requirements.

10.  Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices related to equipment operation and maintenance.

11.  Technology and Innovations: Stay informed about the latest equipment technologies, innovations and techniques in the golf course maintenance industry through conferences, trade shows, seminars and other educational programs to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

12.  Leadership: Attend Keswick Club Staffing and Management meetings, promote Keswick Hall &Club culture. 

Educational Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; Proven experience in equipment management, preferably in golf course or landscape environment.

Experience Requirements

·         Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues

·         Familiarity with a variety of golf course maintenance equipment.

·         Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·         Effective communication and leadership skills.

·         Mechanical certifications are a plus.

·         Knowledge and ability to sharpen and set reel blade mowers.

·         Computer skills are required for electronic communication, research, and record keeping.
