Assistant Superintendent
Tahoe Mountain Club is seeking an experienced 1st Assistant Superintendent to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the Superintendent to ensure the proper maintenance and upkeep of the golf course and grounds. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong passion for turf management.
As the 1st Assistant Superintendent, you will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of course maintenance, including irrigation management, chemical applications crew management and cultivation practices. You will also help develop and implement turf management programs, monitor course conditions, and assist in budget planning.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. A deep understanding of agronomy practices, irrigation systems, and turfgrass maintenance is essential for this role. A degree in turf management or a related field is preferred.
Educational Requirements
- Education/Experience/Certificates/Licenses:
- College degree preferred
- PGA Tournament preferred, but not required
- Ability to obtain a California Pesticide License
- Bilingual in English & Spanish is a plus
- GCSAA Member or apprentice preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of budgeting and expense management strongly desired
- Supervisory experience strong desired
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of agronomy, turf grass science and the rules of golf
- Must possess basic computer skills – Word and Excel
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be extremely organized, efficient and detail-oriented
- Must be highly motivated, goal driven and self-starter

-Minimum 2 years experience as 2nd asst. or A-I-T
-Employee needs to be able to reliably travel to work even when roads are covered in snow
