What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The full pay range for this position is $27.24/hour - $42.22/hour. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include, but are not limited to:

Location
In this position, you can expect to work on-site at Wellshire Golf Course five (5) days per week.
What You’ll Do
With eight golf facilities, Denver Golf, part of the City and County of Denver’s Department of Parks and Recreation, has something for everyone! It takes a dedicated team of professionals to ensure Denver’s iconic courses can be enjoyed for generations to come. As a Turf Equipment Mechanic, you will play a key role in Denver Golf’s mission to be a national leader in the golf industry regarding accessibility, diversity, environmental stewardship, and building the game for the future.
As a Turf Equipment Mechanic, you will:
- Perform preventative maintenance, repair and overhaul hydrostatic drives and hydraulic operated equipment, water and air-cooled engines, diesel engines, and two/four cycle gasoline engines
- Repair and replace clutches, U-joints, and differential assemblies
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and hydraulic brake systems
- Test hydraulic systems, adjust and repair hydraulic cylinders and valve bodies
- Repair cooling systems; troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild starting/charging systems
- Sharpen reels and blades; repair tires including mounts and dismounts
- Assist in training operators on safety features and operation of turf equipment
- Maintain activity records and prepare reports
- Order and maintain parts and hand tools inventory
- Assist on-course and at other Denver facilities, as needed
What You’ll Bring

Our ideal candidate will be savvy at identifying and resolving equipment malfunctions, will be an adept problem solver, and is willing to learn new trades and skills to support operations. Our ideal candidate will be comfortable working in all weather conditions, not afraid to jump in when needed, and will be comfortable interacting with a diverse team of coworkers, as well as with the public.
In addition, our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
- Previous golf course experience preferred, but not required
- Experience with hydraulics, small engines, and electrical troubleshooting
- Experience with turf management preferred, but not required
- Excellent organization skills
- Exceptional work ethic
- Experience working with equipment tracking software
- A professional demeanor and collaborative spirit

Required Minimum Qualifications

Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of experience in the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of gasoline or diesel-powered equipment.
Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
License/Certifications: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
