Assistant Superintendent

Mohawk Golf Club is looking to add an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to our staff. The Assistant Superintendent will work directly with the Superintendent, Equipment Manager, and the other Assistant Superintendent to carry out Mohawk Golf Club quality standards and practices.

Mohawk Golf Club is a single family owned, private golf club designed by Devereux Emmet, and located conveniently in Schenectady New York which borders Albany and Saratoga. We are an eighteen-hole regulation golf course with a nine-hole par three, "Wee Course". The club offers Tennis and Pickleball courts, a pool, and a full indoor/outdoor golf practice facility.

Mohawk Golf Club grounds have a new state of the art maintenance facility housing the administration, staff, equipment manager and equipment storage areas. We have a fulltime staff of seven (year-round) and a seasonal staff of men and women to bring the total staff to twenty.  We typically work Monday through Friday with the assistants being the lead every other weekend.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Daily course setup
• Spraying plan protectants and wetting agents
• Fertility applications
• Daily mowing
• Water monitoring and corrective measures
• Irrigation repairs and maintenance
• Crew scheduling and oversight
• Oversee and perform cultural, construction and renovation projects
• Involvement with hiring seasonal staff
• Attending budget and forecasting meetings for the future
• Chemical and supply inventories
