Spray/Applications Technician
The primary responsibility of the Fertilizer Specialist is to apply chemicals to plants, trees, and grass to enhance plant growth and control weeds and pests. This position will perform a variety of chemical applications that improve the functional and/or aesthetic value of the property. All Weller Brothers team members are expected to provide excellent client service by assisting clients promptly and courteously, answering questions, and providing information as needed. A fertilizer specialist will perform and ensure all team members are executing all job responsibilities in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and competency satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job.
- Stay up-to-date in knowledge of chemical application regulations and techniques.
- Maintain a good standing state-specific chemical applicator license.
- Must be legally licensed with a state-specific chemical applicator license.
- Acquires and stores pesticide and herbicide solutions; mixes or dilutes specified chemicals or materials according to directions and applies them at the recommended rate.
- Able to use outdoor maintenance and power equipment, a variety of hand tools, and legally operate a motor vehicle.
- Willingness to work as part of a team or alone, in all weather conditions.
- Ability to perform moderately heavy physical labor daily.
- Able to communicate with clients to maintain a positive client/company relationship.
- Maintains records on chemical application activities in compliance with EPA, OSHA, and State and Federal regulations.
- Installs, adjusts, and performs minor repairs on application equipment.
- Instruct team members, as required, in applying sprays, dust, and other materials.
- Commit the hours necessary to make sure the job is done to satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean appearance and conform to the Weller Brothers dress code.
- Make decisions that are in the best interest of the company.
- Assist in maintaining all Weller Brothers equipment.
- Assist with Snow Removal in Winter.
- Other duties are needed to help drive and fulfill the Weller Brothers Mission, including referring new team members for employment.
Educational Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma/GED
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are preferred.
- Be willing to obtain the state specific applicator lisence.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of one year experience in industry or related field.
