Assistant Superintendent
LPGA International is a 39-hole Semi-Private Facility located in Daytona Beach, FL adjacent to the LPGA Headquarters. The property features 2-18 hole championship courses, a 3 hole practice facility and a 12+ acre driving range. Turf varieties include Tif-Eagle Greens, 419 Fairways/Tees/Rough and Platinum Paspalum Driving range tees.
The Assistant Superintendent will report directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and will assist them with the everyday maintenance of the club grounds and the golf course. This position will help supervise a maintenance staff of 20-25 employees and will also be responsible for performing skilled maintenance tasks as directed by the Superintendent.
Position Responsibilities

Schedule and assign work tasks for grounds crew members, supervise employees to ensure quality work is being performed.

Train grounds staff on the operation of equipment while keeping safety at the forefront of any maintenance operations.

Assist the Superintendent in the planning of future improvement projects to be completed both in-house and by outside contractors.

Serve as the supervisor in charge when the Superintendent is off property.

Managing soil moisture levels in fine turf using TDR Moisture meters to ensure highest possible playing conditions and turf health.

Mixing and applying pesticides using Toro spray rigs and 25 gallon spot rigs in carts.

Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing irrigation system breaks.

Operation of automatic irrigation system and scheduling of cycles in toro sitepro

Applying fertilizer products using push spreaders and vehicle mounted spreaders such as lely and adams spreaders.

Operation of all grounds maintenance equipment in a safe and responsible manner.

Maintain pesticide application record logs in accordance with government regulations.

Lead crews in tree removal activities including felling of trees, breakdown, and cleanup.

Course setup duties as needed.

Have a deep understanding of all facets of the aeration process and the desired result.

Ability and willingness to perform all other duties as assigned in order to meet the clubs operational needs.
Educational Requirements
Turf Certificate is a plus, but not a requirement. Experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.
Experience Requirements
Multi- year golf course maintenance experience required.
Experience in application of fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides and fungicides.
One year in managerial role on a golf course maintenance crew, multi-course experience preferred.
Special Requirements
Ability to obtain Florida Restricted pesticide applicator license.
Experience with Tif-Eagle Ultradwarf bermuda grass is a plus.
