Irrigation and Turfgrass Crew Leader
Job Summary: The Irrigation and Turfgrass Crew Leader works under and assists the Turf and Grounds Supervisor. This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of irrigation systems and the application of turfgrass pesticides/fertilizers inside the park. The crew leader may also assist and lead the Turf and Grounds Branch in all aspects of daily park maintenance. The expected shift times for this position will be Monday - Friday 6:00am – 2:30pm; and may adjust based upon season.
Specific Duties Include:
· Manage irrigation systems and apply turf chemicals to turf lawns held to an extremely high level of care.
· Spread and spray fertilizers and pesticides with attention to detail on turfgrass within the park using a stand on sprayer/spreader and backpack sprayers.
· Delegate and train irrigation and turfgrass duties to the team technicians.
· Perform routine maintenance checks and prioritize needed repairs accordingly.
· Determine and communicate daily irrigation needs on turfgrass lawns.
· Effectively use irrigation software/hardware through a computer and phone applications.
· Assist in overseeing work performed by lawn contractors working inside the park.
· Interact with Park patrons in a courteous and professional manner. Ensure team members are trained and adhering accordingly. Be prepared to provide accurate and pertinent information regarding MPC and the Park.
· Enforce MPC rules, safety policies, and procedures, and appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Conduct and document safety training as needed and ensure compliance with safety protocol.
· Communicate issues regarding infrastructure, furnishings, safety hazards, quality of the Park user experience issues as needed via work order software.
· Monday thru Friday work schedule.
· Assist with other Park Operations teams as needed.
Abilities Required:
· Ability to perform heavy, physical labor daily in all weather conditions.
· Ability to prioritize work functions and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout a given workday.
· Ability to operate power equipment throughout a workday.
· Ability to stand, crouch, and climb to use ladders and perform various types of manual labor throughout the day.

Salary Description
This is a non-exempt position with a range of $20 - $25/hour
Experience Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
· Two years professional irrigation experience on a golf course, or commercial/residential property.
· Two years experience in pesticide/fertilizer application.
· Preferred one year experience as a foreman/crew leader.
· Ability to work independently on irrigation maintenance.
· Ability to calibrate a stand on spreader sprayer.
· Computer fluency: WeatherTrak Irrigation software, Outlook, and Cloud Storage.
· Cellphone application fluency: Expected to run irrigation software in the field using cellphone applications.
· Strong communications skills; highly motivated; ability to work independently but also as a team.
· Valid Driver’s License.
