Spray/Applications Technician

Position:                           Spray Technician

Department:                   O.C. Welch Golf Properties – Bacon Park Golf Course

Salary Range:                $18-23 DOE / Hourly (Full Time)

As a Spray Technician at Bacon Park Golf Course, you will be heavily engaged in all aspects of Grounds Department Operations, specifically among them:

• Calibration, application, and the associated record keeping of all plant health applications.
• Scouting for disease, weed and insect damage/pressure on turf and ornamental vegetation. 
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional work environment at all times.
• Communicate pertinent information with managers, colleagues, and club staff. 
• Responsible for all inventory management and general storage facility organization. 
• Participate in continuing education to maintain certification status and stay current with industry insights. 
• Participate in all general maintenance activities ordinarily involved in golf course and property management operations. 

Educational Requirements

• H.S. Diploma or it's equivalent required. 
• Commercial Applicators License required, or must be obtained within 90 days of employment. 
• Associates Degree or equivalent from an accredited program in a field of study relevant to Business or Green Industry Management (Turf, Soils, Landscapes, etc..) is preferred, but not required. 

Experience Requirements

·         Prior experience working in turf or landscape maintenance  required. 

·         Knowledge of and experience with commercial fertilizer and plant protectant applications preferred. 

·         Experience working in golf course operations preferred, but not required.

• Ability and willingness to work shifts on weekends and holidays as required. 
• Willingness to work outside in adverse weather conditions.
