Nestled in the heart of Jupiter, Florida, just north of Palm Beach and minutes from the Atlantic Ocean, The Loxahatchee Club is an exclusive residential community built around a premier Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course. Spanning 340 acres, the community features 285 homes, 71 acres of pristine freshwater lakes, and 40 acres of lush greenbelt. Once ranked among the top 100 golf clubs in the U.S., The Loxahatchee Club now proudly holds the esteemed 35th position in Florida. Committed to excellence, the club provides its members with an unparalleled golfing experience and world-class amenities. The golf course is considered the club's core asset, and the team works diligently to meet the needs of its members. The club partners closely with the Nicklaus Group on both current and future course improvements, following a 20-year strategic plan that is reviewed annually to stay aligned with the club’s evolving objectives.

The course consists of 3 acres of Tifeagle greens and 65 acres of Latitude 36 shortgrass and roughs, surrounded by pine beds and native areas. The bunkers are lined with Better Billy Bunker and Pro Angle sand from Ohio, as specifically requested by Mr. Nicklaus. The course utilizes Rainbird irrigation, and the maintenance equipment is under a 4-year replacement program. Future plans include a comprehensive course renovation in 2029, which will feature a full irrigation installation.

Position Overview:

The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Director and Senior Superintendent to oversee and implement daily maintenance operations and projects across the golf course. This role requires expertise in turfgrass management, irrigation systems, and the application of fertilizers and pesticides. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong computer skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive, positive attitude while fostering a safe work environment. With a keen attention to detail and a sense of urgency, the Assistant Superintendent will ensure that all tasks and responsibilities are executed smoothly, contributing to the course’s ongoing excellence.

  • Supervise and participate in fertilizer and pesticide applications, ensuring the safe operation and precise calibration of equipment
  • Maintain accurate records and manage inventory control using the Sparks management program
  • Ensure that chemical storage and mixing areas comply with all county, state, and federal regulations
  • Passion for maintaining exceptional course conditions, with an enthusiasm for golf tradition and the history of golf courses

Requirements

  • A degree or certification in turfgrass management or agronomy is preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in golf course maintenance
  • Ability to obtain a Florida Pesticide License within 90 days of employment 

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary range: $70,000 - $85,000, depending on experience
