Job description
We’re looking for an Equipment Manager/Turf Equipment Technician to maintain and repair the machinery that keeps our golf course in top condition. This role involves troubleshooting and servicing a wide range of equipment, from mowers to utility vehicles, and offers $17–$19 per hour, depending on experience. Here’s an overview of what you can expect to do while working here:

  • Develop and implement a structured maintenance program for all turf equipment, including reel sharpening and scheduled preventive maintenance
  • Perform inspections and both minor/major repairs on turf and landscape equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on mowers, utility vehicles, and other golf course machinery
  • Maintain detailed service records and logs for all equipment repairs, parts usage, and routine maintenance
  • Ensure tools and shop areas are clean, safe, and organized, following best practices for safety at all times
  • Work closely with the Superintendent and maintenance team to schedule equipment usage and reduce downtime
  • Assist with part orders and inventory management, staying within budget and maintaining an efficient parts supply
  • Provide hands-on training to team members on basic equipment care and proper operation
  • Communicate any significant equipment issues or maintenance updates to the Superintendent or management team
  • Stay current on industry standards, repair techniques, and equipment advancements
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the golf course

Educational Requirements

Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record. Company drivers who are Florida residents must obtain a valid Florida license within 30 days of establishing residency to drive on Florida roads.

Experience Requirements

Experience Requirements

  • At least 1–2 years of hands-on mechanical experience, preferably with golf course or turf equipment
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Exposure to reel grinding or sharpening procedures is preferred
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and record-keeping
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools in a safe manner
  • Comfort working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications are a plus)
