Turf Equipment Technician

Alaqua Country Club is seeking a motivated individual to fill the role of equipment technician. 

Job duties include the following as well as other responsibilities that may be assigned to ensure the operation of the maintenance department or the golf course:

•  The Equipment Technician/ mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, overall management of all golf course maintenance equipment which is primarily Toro, Kubota and Stihl along with the upkeep and organization of the technicians shop area. 
• Duties include maintenance on mowers, utility vehicles, tractors,  electric fleet carts, various 2 cycle such as string & hedge trimmers, edgers, chain saw etc., any specialized turf equipment,  Caterpillar skid loader and Yanmar mini excavator. 
• The role requires proficiency in reel grinding, reel setup, reel overhaul, cutting unit maintenance and the ability to maintain a high quality cut on all reel or rotary mowers. 
• Also requires a strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical diagnostics, small engine repair.
•  Perform preventive maintenance and repairs ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently to support the course's maintenance and operational needs. 
•  Maintain accurate records for repairs, maintenance schedules and inventory.
• Reports to the superintendent the status and operating condition of all equipment.

Physical demands and responsibilities

• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Frequently exposed to fumes,  airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions,  extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate to loud.
• Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position.
• Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling.
• Frequent repetitive motions.
• Continuous standing and walking.
• May need to use some protective equipment, such as a respirator, gloves, earplugs and safety glasses.
