Spray/Applications Technician

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Turf and Ornamental Specialist to join our team. This role involves the safe and effective application of pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers to maintain the health and appearance of lawns, landscapes, sports fields, golf courses, and ornamental plants. The ideal candidate will have experience in pesticide application, understand environmental and safety regulations, and possess a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and fertilizers to turf and ornamental plants in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

• Identify pests, weeds, and diseases affecting turf and ornamentals, and determine appropriate treatment methods.

• Safely handle, mix, and apply chemical treatments using various equipment such as sprayers, spreaders, and injection systems.

• Maintain application records, including chemical usage, weather conditions, and treatment areas.

• Calibrate and maintain application equipment to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent environmental contamination and ensure personal and public safety.

• Provide customers or property owners with recommendations for ongoing turf and plant health.

• Stay up to date with industry best practices, new pest control methods, and regulatory changes.

• Work independently or as part of a team to complete applications in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Turf Management, or related field preferred).

• Valid pesticide applicator license or the ability to obtain one.

• Experience in southern turf and ornamental pesticide application preferred.

• Knowledge of southern turfgrass management, plant health, and pest control techniques.

• Ability to operate and maintain pesticide application equipment to include Z-Sprayer.

• Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.

• Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, walk long distances, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices.

• Experience working with golf courses, sports fields, or large commercial landscapes.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
