Assistant Superintendent

Cripple Creek Golf and Country Club is looking for an excited and energetic candidate to join our team as an Assistant Superintendent.  Located on the shores of the Indian River Bay and just ten minutes from local beaches in Dagsboro, DE, Cripple Creek is one of the premier private facilities in the area.  Built in 1984, it was designed by Algie Poli.  Club amenities include: 18 hole championship golf course (hosting Delaware State open Aug 2025), recently renovated Bermuda Grass short game area with a grass tee driving range, pickle ball courts, pool, bocce ball, and a modernized club house.     We manage 4 acres of A1-A4 bentgrass greens, 30 acres of bermuda/poa/bentgrass fairways, and 4 acres of Bentgrass tee boxes.  On occasion we do receive coastal flooding on two of the holes that are situated out on the bay.

Our ideal candidate is someone who is looking to advance through the industry with the end goal of being a superintendent.  You will get the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of daily maintenance and management of intensely maintained turf.  These job duties include but are not limited to:

• mixing/ applying chemical applications
• crew management
• hand watering and moisture management
• irrigation repair
• the occasional office work (spray sheets, payroll,  etc)

Aside from the day to day routine,   there has been a lot of opportunity to be involved with in house construction projects which have included irrigation/ landscape installation, newly built tee boxes, renovated bunkers, and drainage projects.   

In the past twenty years, 9 previous assistants have moved on to superintendent roles at local golf courses.  This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to quickly advance in the industry but in a casual, beach inspired atmosphere.
