North Shore Towers & Country Club, a private golf course and luxury residential community in Queens, NY, is seeking an Equipment Technician / Shop Manager to oversee the maintenance and repair of all golf course and grounds equipment. Position Overview
The Equipment Technician / Shop Manager will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and record-keeping of all golf course and grounds equipment. This role requires an experienced professional with strong mechanical skills who can work independently while collaborating with the golf course superintendent and grounds team.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on all golf course maintenance equipment, including mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and specialized turf equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of all equipment maintenance, repairs, and service schedules.
- Order and manage inventory of parts and supplies necessary for equipment maintenance and repair.
- Train and educate staff on proper operation and care of machinery.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment.
- Ensure all equipment is calibrated and cutting units are maintained for optimal quality of cut.
Experience Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience as an Equipment Technician or Shop Manager in a golf course, landscaping, or related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of small engines and diesel equipment.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues efficiently.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks required for the position.
- Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
- Golf course industry experience is preferred but not required.
