REPORTS TO: EQUIPMENT MANAGER & LEAD MECHANIC
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Assistant Mechanic Technician works on the golf course equipment; changing fluids and filters as well as a diverse range of repairs while also assisting other shop personnel with repairs. At the discretion of the Director of Agronomy, this position will occasionally assist on the golf course in various functions to provide the best playing conditions possible for the Membership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment.
· Changes oil and filters.
· Greases equipment.
· Changes tires.
· Assists in checking reels for quality and height of cut.
· Maintains a clean work area.
· Keeps detailed records of work performed.
· Helps operators when called upon with different facets of the equipment.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Position requires the individual to maintain flexible availability, will work weekends and holidays.
· Must have viable means of transportation to work.
· Consistently follows safety guidelines and procedures.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferred but not required.
· Must have valid driver’s license.
· Working knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in golf course equipment repair and grounds, preferred.
· Ability to safely operate golf course mower, tractors and other equipment.
· One (1) year minimum of golf course maintenance employment, preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this position.
· Will work outdoors and may be exposed to wet and/or hot conditions.
· Must have a basic knowledge of golf course maintenance or mechanic shop operations.
· Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
· Moderate noise environment.
· Move or lift objects up to 60 pounds.
· Must be able to climb, crawl, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push or pull.
· Communication, to include: reading, hearing, and talking with fellow employees.
