We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Golf Club Superintendent to oversee the maintenance and agronomic operations of one of our premier golf courses in the Greater St. Louis area. Position Overview:
As the Golf Club Superintendent, you will be responsible for maintaining the golf course to championship standards, ensuring exceptional playability, and enhancing the overall aesthetics of the property. You will lead a skilled agronomic team, manage budgets, and implement best practices in turfgrass management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of golf course maintenance, including turf management, irrigation, and pest control.
- Develop and execute agronomic programs to maintain optimal playing conditions.
- Manage and train the maintenance team to ensure high performance and efficiency.
- Operate within budgetary guidelines and oversee procurement of supplies and equipment.
- Maintain compliance with environmental regulations and industry best practices.
- Work collaboratively with club leadership to enhance the member and guest experience.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in turfgrass management and golf course maintenance.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or certification in Agronomy, Turfgrass Management, or a related field preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
- Strong knowledge of turfgrass species, irrigation systems, and pest management.
- Experience managing a team and overseeing budgets.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
- GCSAA membership preferred.
