Assistant Superintendent

Sequoyah Country Club, located in Oakland, California, is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join the Agronomy team. We have a unique golf experience and environment for individuals seeking to enhance their career. Sequoyah, founded in 1913, sits in the Oakland Hills and offers breathtaking views of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Area. 

This role is designed to help teach and advance the skills necessary to advance in the turfgrass industry. The Assistant Superintendent will be involved in all aspects of maintaining the course and property. These include, but are not limited to, daily golf course setup, water management, fertilizer/ chemical calibrations and applications, staff management, and budgeting. 

Sequoyah Country Club has a full golf course renovation project designed by Architect Jay Blasi set to start in April of 2026. Project highlights include adding a new 330 yard driving range, re-routing of golf holes, building USGA greens, new irrigation system, new drainage, new bunkers, extensive tree and native work, among many other changes. There will also be a pool renovation set to start winter of 2024-2025 as well as a new proshop/ member bar along with parking lot enhancements. The chosen individual will play a key role in executing these projects.
