Job Description- Irrigation Technician
Trump National Golf Club of Philadelphia is a private, 18-hole golf club set in 365 acres of the secluded, pine barrens of New Jersey; only 25 minutes from downtown Philadelphia. The club is seeking a motivated individual to assume the role of Irrigation Technician to aid in the routine maintenance, repair, reporting and monitoring of the Rainbird irrigation and well systems throughout the property. Ensuring that all components are constantly preforming to achieve our goals of providing the highest quality playing surfaces for the membership and their guests to enjoy.
Responsibilities Include (Not Limited To)
- Daily scouting for any issues that require repairing or adjusting
- Aid in the irrigation of various pesticide and fertilizer applications throughout the season
- Monthly reporting of consumption and well depths in accordance with state regulations
- Monitoring and maintenance of the pump house, electrical components of the satellites, heads, and main computer control hub
- Highly responsible for executing the new GPS mapping and system updates utilizing Cirrus Pro
- Daily communication with the Superintendent and other managers
- Assisting the crew in course preparation and other equipment operation when required
- Supervise and lead small teams when larger projects require additional help
- Maintain a proper inventory of parts and accessories while working within the confines of the budget
- Organizing and maintenance of the irrigation building
- Winterization and system charge
Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Continued education in related fields is desired, but not required
Experience Requirements
-Previous experience working with irrigation systems. Including pipe fitting, wiring, pumps, install, and repair.
- At least 3 years working experience working on golf courses, landscaping or irrigation related companies
Special Requirements
- Must have strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize needs when solving problems
- The ability to productively work alone and sometimes in small groups
- A vast knowledge of methods and materials used in irrigation system repair and maintenance, including design, replacements and installations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and layouts.
- Firm understanding of troubleshooting computer components associated with modern irrigation systems.
- Experience with safety protocols associated with equipment and materials used with irrigation repair and maintenance.
- Comfortability working in the elements and confined spaces at times
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff members, vendors, and various companies
- Understanding the physical requirements of the job. Including frequent standing, kneeling, bending over and capacity of lifting up to 50 lbs throughout the day.
