Job Title:  Assistant Superintendent /  Spray manager

University Park Country Club is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of  Assistant Superintendent / spray technicians.  We are happy to train the right person that can grow and advance on our team. They will work closely with Superintendent and other Assistants Superintendents to provide quality conditions for members and guests. This position will be involved in all aspects of golf course maintenance and will assist in fertilizer and plant protectant applications as needed.

Special Requirements

Assist in team scheduling, coaching and motivation.

Assist with inspects of turf, shrubs, lakes, and other outdoor areas to determine health and conditions/needs.

Applies plant protectants and fertilizers as needed when appropriate to maintain excellent condition of golf course and grounds.

Assist in maintaining proper inventory of plant protectant and fertilizer products.

Assist in keeping plant protectant and fertilizer storage facilities in a clean and orderly manner; ensures facility is locked when not present.

Maintains direct communication with golf professionals, 1st Assistant Superintendent and Golf Course Superintendent.

Attends classes and training seminars to maintain current licenses and to remain abreast of ever-changing industry standards.

Complies with all Club policies and procedures as detailed in employee handbook.

Implements and follows the principals set forth in the Florida BMP’s

Must be able to obtain RUP and fertilizer applicator license within 90 days of hire.

Must obtain Florida BMP certificate within 6 months from day of hire.

Preferred:  1 year of maintenance experience in golf course environment.

Ability to read and converse in English for communication with managers and for safety reasons.

Must have a valid driver’s license for golf cart and golf equipment and vehicle operation.
