Construction Shaper/Crew
Fleetwood Services Construction Internship program will provide a supervised work experience for students and recent graduates to build their expertise and proficiency in golf course construction management, as well as enhance their problem-solving abilities. The job will consist of learning how a re-model takes place on the golf course, which will include staking, shooting grades from a set of plans, measurements of work done and as-builts, greens remodel, drainage projects, bunker projects and repair, irrigation repair and troubleshooting, hand work with shovel and rake, equipment repair, sod prep and application, driving of small utility vehicles and heavy machinery operation.
Educational Requirements
- Current enrollment in either a 2 or 4 year Turfgrass management, certificate program, or related field, but not required.
Experience Requirements
- Prior golf course construction or related field preferred but not required.
Special Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License
- Maintain a professional demeanor and personal appearance.
- Punctual/arrive at work on-time.
- Ability to work longer hours if time sensitive jobs, or weather demands
- Average Intern hours worked are 50+ hrs./week
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, weekends, holidays, as needed
