New Job Opportunity: PreOwned Equipment Technician
Turf Star Western is seeking a Technician/Mechanic for our Fresno, California location.
This position performs all types of mechanical repairs and maintenance work on commercial pre-owned (used) products. Examples include small engine overhaul and maintenance on gas and diesel powertrains, hydraulic systems work, minor welding and painting, assists in maintenance of shop, shop tools and equipment.
This position does not require using your own tools. Tools will be provided. Provided tools are replaced and maintained by TSW.
We are looking for individuals who will always represent Turf Star Western in a professional and ethical manner when working with all types of customers: internal, external, co-workers, management/ownership, vendors and the like. Solid professional communication skills and accepting constructive feedback in this job is essential.
Essential Job Duties:
- Diagnose/troubleshoot/recondition used and lease return equipment for resale as required.
- Repair small gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems and/or electrical systems.
- Performs simple and advanced blade sharpening.
- Complete administrative duties daily, such as: submitting parts orders, complete labor logs, and daily electronic reporting of time and attendance, etc.
- Report to the Shop Foreman or Service Manager to assist with overall productivity and efficiency of the shop, with the goal of meeting customer expectations.

Experience Requirements
Job Qualifications:
• Proven experience in small engine repair, hydraulics, and diesel.
• Turf equipment set up or repair experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to use a forklift to move equipment in need of repair to and from the shop’s work area.
• Basic computer skills. Turf Star Western will train on how to use engine and ECU diagnostic software.
• Confident verbal and written communication skills.
• This is an active position. The candidate must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
Special Requirements
In compliance with the State of California, Turf Star, Inc provides a reasonable range of minimum compensa-tion for jobs that may be hired in California. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors in-cluding but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific geographic area. For the State of California only, the range of pay for this job is $22.00-$25.00 per hour.

Job Offerings:
- The wage range for this position is $22.00 to $25.00 per hour. Hired applicant placement within the range is based on qualifications and professional experience.
- Overtime pay is possible based on season and business need.
- Eligible for discretionary variable compensation.
- Mon-Fri (NO Weekends!!).
- Paid 2 times a month (semi-monthly).
- Paid time off earned per pay period based on months of service.
