Golf Course Superintendent
Dorado Beach Resort & Club is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Golf Course Superintendent to oversee the maintenance and management of our premier golf course, grounds, and associated equipment. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional with a passion for excellence in course management, horticulture, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will work alongside the Director of Agronomy to ensure the highest standards of care, while also managing staff, budgets, safety protocols, and maintenance operations.
As the Golf Course Superintendent, you will play a key role in maintaining the beauty and playability of the course, driving innovative solutions, and leading a dedicated team to meet and exceed the expectations of our esteemed guests.

- East Course: Champion Bermudagrass, Tifdwarf, and Zoysia
- West Course: Paspalum - Pure Dynasty
- Equipment: Mainly purchased Toro fleet
- Irrigation system(s): Toro - Lynx, Osmac. LTC Plus.
Initial Priorities of the Position:
- Opening the new golf course in August of 2025.
- Becoming acclimated with property and existing team members
- Work to maintain the current courses conditioning

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Lead, motivate, and manage Crew Leader(s), Spray Technician, Irrigation Technicians, Equipment Operators, Mechanics, and Assistant Superintendents
- Budget & Operational Planning: Assist in the development and implementation of the annual maintenance budget and operating plan. Ensure cost control while maintaining the highest standards of course quality.
- Course Maintenance & Care: Oversee daily maintenance operations, ensuring the golf course and surrounding grounds are maintained to the highest standards. Manage irrigation, drainage systems, and turf care programs.
- Sustainable Practices: Lead the development and implementation of integrated pest management, aeration, fertilization, and soil care programs, promoting environmental sustainability and exceptional course quality.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all state, federal, and OSHA regulations, particularly regarding pesticide application, chemical storage, employee safety, and public safety.
- Project Management: Supervise course construction projects and ensure timely, high-quality completion of maintenance initiatives. Oversee equipment repair and preventive maintenance programs.
- Inventory & Supply Management: Manage the purchasing, ordering, and inventory control of all necessary materials and supplies, ensuring proper stock levels and cost efficiency.
- Record-Keeping & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, staff schedules, safety meetings, chemical applications, and other departmental operations. Ensure timely submission of all operational, financial, and budgetary reports.
- Professional Development: Stay informed on the latest industry trends, best practices, and innovations through continued education, trade associations, and industry events.
Working Conditions:
- Flexible work schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and occasional exposure to inclement weather.
- Work in outdoor environments with potential exposure to chemicals, pesticides, and other maintenance-related materials, following strict safety protocols.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs consistently.
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, and kneel for extended periods.
- Strong visual acuity to inspect work areas, monitor course conditions, and observe golf ball trajectories.

Educational Requirements
- Ability to read and write both Spanish and English is a must for this position.
- A 2- or 4-year degree in Turfgrass Management, Soil Science, or a related field.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in golf course management, preferably in high-end or private facilities.
- Proven expertise in budget management, staff leadership, and strategic planning within the golf course industry.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Toro MyTurf software.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively, while maintaining high-quality results under pressure.
