Job Overview
The Golf Course Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of all equipment used to maintain the golf course. This includes diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of equipment, ensuring that all machines are in top working condition for daily use.
Responsibilities
  • Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all golf course equipment, including mowers, carts, aerators, and utility vehicles.
  • Inspection & Diagnostics: Inspect equipment regularly to identify mechanical issues and perform diagnostics to troubleshoot problems.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance (oil changes, blade sharpening, tire checks, etc.) to extend the lifespan of equipment.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an organized inventory of parts, tools, and equipment, and order new supplies as needed.
  • Equipment Storage: Ensure that equipment is properly stored, cleaned, and ready for use at all times.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all repairs, maintenance, and inspections performed on each piece of equipment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the golf course superintendent or maintenance team to prioritize equipment repairs and ensure smooth operations.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all equipment is in compliance with safety standards and regulations, and perform repairs in a safe manner.
  • Emergency Repairs: Provide emergency repairs on equipment as needed to minimize downtime and disruptions to golf course operations.

Educational Requirements

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in mechanical maintenance or small engine repair preferred.

Experience Requirements

 
Qualifications
  • Experience: Previous experience working with small engines and turf care equipment, preferably in a golf course or similar environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including engines, hydraulics, and electrical components.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail to ensure repairs are done correctly and safely.
  • Communication: Good communication skills to interact with other staff members and report issues.
  • This role is crucial to ensuring that the golf course's operations run smoothly, keeping all equipment in optimal working order, and providing a high-quality experience for the golfers.
     
    Hiring range: $28-$30/Hour
