Superintendent-in-Training
Stoney Creek Golf Course, located in Westminster, Colorado is seeking a Superintendent In-Training to join our golf course maintenance team.
The Superintendent In-Training position is designed to provide the individual with experience and training so they may advance to the Golf Course Superintendent position. The Superintendent In-Training performs a broad range of maintenance activities including, but not limited to, equipment operation, agronomic product applications, special projects, limited supervision, and administrative and record keeping duties.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist with all aspects of daily course and driving range maintenance including mowing.
· Utilize effective water management techniques, including hand watering and other methods.
· Monitor turf conditions, including irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and overall course health.
· Perform accurate application of fertilizers and chemicals, ensuring proper calibration and safe application techniques.
· Participate in daily course setup, including adjusting hole and tee placements and performing detailed maintenance tasks.
· Be responsible for overseeing topdressing and aerification when needed.
· Assist with maintenance and operation of the irrigation system, including repairs of irrigation heads, pipe issues, and troubleshooting.
· Operate and train staff in the proper usage and maintenance of all golf course equipment.
· Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
About Stoney Creek Golf Course:
· Stoney Creek is a 9-hole executive course, 6 par threes and 3 par fours.
· Equipment: Primarily Toro with other assorted brands
· Irrigation system: Toro Lynx with smart satellites
Position requirements: Minimum of two years work experience in golf course maintenance.
Job benefits:
· Hourly wages for this position will start between at $20 - $25/hour depending upon prior experience and job qualifications.
