Turf Equipment Technician

Job Summary
- Repair and provide all required preventative maintenance on all equipment associated with the Course Maintenance Department
- Communicate all needs and issues relating to the maintenance of the equipment to the Golf Course Superintendent
Essential Functions
- Inspects equipment for operating deficiencies and repair as necessary (including engine repair, oil & fluid changes, brakes, tires, belts, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, cooling systems, reel sharpening, bed knives, rotary blades, etc.)
- Inspects equipment daily to ensure cutting adjustments are correct
- Lubricates and services all course maintenance equipment
- Maintains service records on all equipment
- Maintains inventory of common repair and maintenance parts
- Establishes and maintains safety procedures for using equipment
- Maintains the shop area in a clean, organized, and safe fashion daily
- Opens the maintenance shop and runs operations in the absence of the golf course superintendent.
Educational Requirements
Certification from college or technical school preferred
High School Diploma or GED
Experience Requirements
Possession of a valid driver's license
Golf course mechanic experience preferred
Computer knowledge for parts research/ordering
