Turf Specialist/Agronomist

Position Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Agronomic Farm Manager to oversee all aspects of our sod production and field operations. This role combines agronomic expertise, leadership, and operational management to ensure efficient and productive farm performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in crop management, soil science, irrigation, and team supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and monitor agronomic practices for optimal sod production
- Manage soil fertility, crop rotation schedules, and pest/disease control programs
- Oversee irrigation systems and water usage to ensure efficiency and sustainability
- Supervise daily field operations, including planting, fertilization, spraying, and harvesting
- Maintain accurate field and crop records, including input applications and yields
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate routine maintenance
- Stay up to date on agronomic trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements
- Work closely with upper management to meet farm goals and customer demands
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of farm management or agronomy experience
- Strong knowledge of turfgrass production, soil science, and plant health
- Experience with irrigation systems, nutrient management, and pest control
- Ability to operate and manage a range of agricultural equipment
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Proficient in farm management software, spreadsheets, or GPS/mapping tools
- Valid driver’s license; Pesticide Applicator License is a plus
