Assistant-in-Training

Full-time

Kinloch Golf Club (KGC) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant-In-Training (AIT).

The AIT at Kinloch will report to one of our two, senior assistant superintendents and will be integrated into all phases of our golf course maintenance operation. The end goal of this position is to ascend to one of our senior AGCS positions or move on to another club in a more senior role.

Hard work, dedication and intensity are key requirements for this job. Kinloch has a rigorous conditioning standard with cool season turf in the southern transition zone. While this position is challenging, it will also introduce the right candidate to interesting agronomy, teamwork and professionalism.

Kinloch Golf Club was founded in 2000 and has been consistently rated one of the top golf clubs in the United States. Designed by Lester George and all-time, amateur legend, Marvin "Vinny" Giles, KGC prides itself on delivering one of the finest golf experiences in the mid-Atlantic and beyond.

An all cool-season golf course, KGC consists of L-93 Creeping Bentgrass tees, greens and fairways. The surrounding 1st cuts and primary rough are comprised of Kentucky Bluegrass and Turf Type Tall Fescue.

Aside from our commitment to the members and guests of KGC, we are also proud partners of the USGA and have already hosted two national championships... the 2011 Senior Amateur and the 2024 Mid-Amateur. We will continue our relationship with the USGA as we await our next hosting opportunity.

Over the lifetime of the club, KGC has seen many assistant superintendents move on to manage their own property. This current opportunity is available because of that turnover. If you enjoy turf grass management and are interested in building your career, KGC has proven to be a wonderful training ground for future golf course superintendents.
