Assistant Superintendent
The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for assisting the Golf Course Superintendent with management, direction and leadership of all golf course grounds operations. The Assistant Superintendent will help ensure the goals of both the Golf Course Maintenance department and The Club are being met. With a very high degree of personal ethics, professional integrity and strong attention to detail, the Assistant Superintendent will be a proactive, self-motivated team player with the experience and ability to help build and manage a strong and efficient team.
Educational Requirements
B.S., A.S., or Certificate in Turfgrass Management or Horticulture
Experience Requirements
- Preferred 1-2 years of experience as an Assistant Superintendent or Foreman
- Knowledge of methods and materials used in golf maintenance & landscape, including irrigation maintenance/repair and equipment operation. *Toro E-Osmac experience is a plus
- Must demonstrate initiative and support/motivate employees to achieve objectives
- Ability to work weekends on a three-week rotation
- Able to work some holidays (mow & go) and work longer days when necessary
- Weed & pest identification/management are key components of this position
- Strong work ethic and personal commitment to improving/maintaining course conditions
- State of Florida Commercial Use Pesticide Applicator License (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire)
Special Requirements
Valid Driver's License
Minimum of Two Years Management/Supervisory Experience
