Assistant Superintendent
Crofton Country Club is accepting application for our Assistant Superintendent position.
CCC is a private club located in the suburbs of Crofton, about a 30 minute drive away both Washington DC and Baltimore. Although built in 1964 CCC remains a challenging, yet fun course for all skill levels.
CCC is in the process of completing a re-grassing of the fairways from the current cool season mix of Bent/Rye/Poa to Zeon Zoysia. We have completed 8/14 fairways and all the approaches from about 30-40 yards and in have been re-grassed to Zeon, including all par 3s. Last year we completed the remaining 3 fairways on the front 9 and we are planning to complete an additional 2 on the back 9 this summer.
Greens: Pushup Bentgrass/Poa mix
Tees: Meyer/Zeon Zoysia
Fairways: The front 9 and #18 fairways are Zeon Zoysia, the rest are a mix of Bent/Rye/Poa/Common Bermuda
Rough: Tall Fescue/Rye/Poa mix
The Assistant will report directly to the Superintendent to help plan spray/fertilizer application, water management schedules, and daily maintenance duties, irrigation repairs
The goal everyday is to be out the door and on our way home by 4pm everyday. We strive to have a healthy work/life balance here at Crofton CC
Educational Requirements
2-4 year degree in turf or other related fields is preferred. Other qualified candidates may be considered.
Recent graduates and soon to graduates are encouraged to apply
Experience Requirements
1-2 year experience in turf related field
Special Requirements
Must obtain a Maryland Pesticide Applications license with 90 days
