2027 Agronomy Internship – Housing Included and Bonus Opportunity
Job Details
Norwood Hills Country Club is seeking motivated students to join our Agronomy Team for the summer of 2027.
Founded in 1922, Norwood Hills is a historic 36-hole private club that has hosted championship golf for more than a century, including the 1948 PGA Championship won by Ben Hogan.
This full-time, seasonal internship provides hands-on experience across golf course agronomy, warm- and cool-season turf management, course renovation, golf course architecture, and professional tournament preparation.
What You’ll Experience
Interns will gain practical experience in areas including:
- Warm-season zoysia grass management
- Cool-season bent grass management
- Daily golf course setup and conditioning
- Moisture management and hand watering
- Fertility and plant protectant applications
- Irrigation operation, troubleshooting, and repair
- Mowing and equipment operation
- Golf course renovation and construction
- Turf establishment and grow-in practices
- Exposure to golf course architecture and design
- Professional tournament preparation and course setup
Norwood Hills is investing significantly in its golf courses and working with golf course architect Dave Zinkand on renovation and improvement projects. Interns will see how architectural concepts progress from planning and design through construction, grow-in, and long-term maintenance.
The club also hosts a PGA TOUR Champions event each fall, providing interns with exposure to the conditioning, presentation standards, detailed course setup, and teamwork required for professional competition.
Professional Development
Interns will receive hands-on mentorship from the Norwood Hills agronomy team and take on increasing responsibility throughout the summer.
Our goal is to help interns build practical agronomic skills, develop industry relationships, and gain experience that prepares them for future assistant superintendent and golf course management positions.
