Bell Nob Golf Club is seeking a 2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. We are a public, 18-hole golf course with an additional 9 hole par 3 course located in Gillette, Wyoming. Gillette is off Interstate 90 in the northeast corner of Wyoming between the Black Hills and the Bighorn mountains. Bell Nob is one of the top public courses in the region placing #2 in GolfWeek for Wyoming's top public access courses in 2025.
Essential Duties and Responsibilites
The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
- Assists in planning and implementing golf turf and plant health maintenance schedule including irrigation, fertilization, weed control, seeding, aerating, top dressing, chemical applications, and mowing.
- Provides supervision, direction, scheduling, and assistance to seasonal staff to perform the maintenance of Bell Nob Golf Course including greens, tees and fairways and irrigation systems in assigned areas. Trains and motivates assigned staff with the safe and proper use of grounds maintenance equipment, and cleaning and pesticide chemicals.
- Responsible for all fertilizer and chemical applications and implementing chemical application schedule; maintain accurate records of all chemical and fertilizer applications.
- Supervise and perform a variety of skilled duties involved in trouble shooting, identifying, and resolving malfunctions our Toro irrigation system.
- Responsible for repair and maintenance of irrigation system, leveling of heads and sprinklers, proper rotation, and spray of sprinklers.
- Surveying plants, trees, shrubs, and turf for disease, insect damage, and other pests; accurately diagnosing issues so that proper action can be taken.
- Operates light, medium, and heavy equipment. Assists with maintenance on equipment.
- Assists department personnel and county agencies with special events and work assignments as needed.
- Performs related duties as required.
- Interviews will start June 17th
- Class C driver's license required

Experience Requirements
Two years verifiable golf or turf related experience. Requires a working knowledge of golf course maintenance operations.
Educational Requirements
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Two or four year degree in Turf Management or related field

Special Requirements
The ability to think on your feet and adapt on the fly. Every day and every year will be a different challenge. The want and drive to advance in the industry into a Superintendent position. Ability to effectively communicate with peers, grounds staff, golf shop staff, and golfers. Obtain a Wyoming Pesticide Applicators License within 90 days. Plays golf!
