2ND ASSISTANT GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT

We are seeking a motivated 2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our team at Berkeley Hall Club. The position may be on either the North or South Course. This is an entry-level leadership role for a recent turfgrass graduate who is ready to take the next step after an internship. Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent and working closely with the Assistant Superintendent, the 2nd Assistant will play a hands-on role in daily operations, crew leadership, and course conditioning while learning every part of a championship operation.

Berkeley Hall Club is a premier private golf community nestled along the Okatie River in Bluffton, SC. The property features two distinct 18-hole courses, the North and South Courses, both designed by renowned architect Tom Fazio. Both are core golf layouts with no interior homes or roads.

• North Course: Tahoma 31 bermudagrass on tees, fairways, and roughs, and Champion bermudagrass greens
• South Course: Fazio's classic parkland design, with TifEagle greens and overseeded Celebration bermudagrass fairways, set among live oaks and pines along the Okatie River marsh

Our department is invested in technology and data, including GreenKeeper, TurfRad, USGA Deacon, and John Deere Operations Center, and is actively evaluating autonomous mowing. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead crew members on the course each morning, including course setup, mowing, and daily maintenance practices
• Train new crew members on equipment operation, work standards, and safety protocols
• Assist with fertilizer and pesticide applications, sprayer calibration, and application records
• Hand water, take moisture readings, and assist with irrigation repairs
• Scout for disease, insect, weed, and moisture issues and report findings to the Superintendent and Assistant
• Assist with aerification, verticutting, topdressing, overseeding, and spring transition
• Help prepare the course for tournaments and member events
• Uphold the club's Golf Course Maintenance Standards
• Assist with equipment care and inventory of materials and supplies
