Position Summary
The Chemical Spray Technician is responsible for the safe and effective application of pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, and other turfgrass products used in maintaining exceptional golf course conditions. This individual will play a critical role in turf health, environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, and overall course presentation.
Essential Responsibilities
- Inspect turfgrass, landscape areas, lakes, and grounds to identify pest, weed, disease, and fertility needs.
- Apply pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and fertilizers in accordance with agronomic plans and label requirements.
- Calibrate, operate, and maintain spray equipment, spreaders, utility vehicles, and related application equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of all chemical and fertilizer applications.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering products and supplies.
- Ensure chemical storage, mixing, and application areas comply with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain and organize Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical records.
- Perform preventive maintenance on spraying equipment and report repair needs.
- Assist with all aspects of golf course maintenance as needed.
- Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and continuing education opportunities.

Job Requirements
• Experience in golf course, sports turf, landscape, or agricultural chemical application preferred.
• Knowledge of pesticide safety, calibration, and application techniques.
• Ability to safely operate spray rigs, spreaders, tractors, and utility equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to environmental stewardship.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Interest in golf and golf course maintenance is preferred.
• Current state pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain one within a designated timeframe.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and rain.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, stooping, and repetitive motion.
• Ability to safely handle chemicals while following all safety protocols.
• Ability to lift and move materials and equipment associated with golf course maintenance.
• Comfortable working around machinery and maintenance equipment.
