Position Overview

White Eagle Golf Club is seeking a motivated and dependable Assistant Equipment Technician to join our Golf Course Maintenance team. This position will work closely with our Equipment Technician to maintain, repair, and service a wide variety of golf course maintenance equipment including reel mowers, rotary mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, small engines, and other turf maintenance equipment.

The ideal candidate is someone who is mechanically inclined, eager to learn, takes pride in quality workmanship, and enjoys being part of a professional team dedicated to providing exceptional playing conditions for our membership.

Spanish-speaking ability is extremely important for this position. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively in Spanish with our existing Equipment Technician and maintenance team. Clear communication is essential for safety, daily operations, equipment training, and ensuring the team works efficiently together.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist with daily maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of golf course equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on reel mowers, fairway units, greens mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and small engines.
• Assist with grinding, sharpening, adjusting, and maintaining cutting units to ensure quality mowing performance.
• Learn and follow proper equipment setup procedures, including height-of-cut adjustments and mower calibration.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and assist with repairs under the direction of the Equipment Technician.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe equipment shop environment.
• Perform oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, inspections, and routine service work.
• Assist with welding, fabrication, electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics, and other mechanical repairs as skills develop.
• Maintain accurate service records and communicate equipment needs or concerns.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a professional work environment.
• Assist with emergency repairs and equipment preparation during the golf season.

Qualifications

Required:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent Spanish-speaking ability is highly preferred and considered extremely important for this position.
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to lift, move, and handle equipment parts and tools.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Preferred:

• Previous experience with turf equipment, automotive repair, diesel mechanics, agriculture equipment, or small engines.
• Experience working with reel mowers or golf course maintenance equipment.
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Technical school training in mechanics, automotive, diesel, or turf equipment.
