Job Details
TPC Treviso Bay Golf Club, located in Naples, Florida, is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join its golf course maintenance team ahead of its “course refresh project." The refresh project consists of a new irrigation system, updated pump station, updated bunker liner system (Bunker Solutions), regrassing (Bimini Bermuda), and updated bridges. Preparation for proper eradication begins in the summer of 2026, culminating with overseeding in October. The project commences on March 01, 2027.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent reports directly to the Director of Agronomy (DOA). Under the direction of the DOA and Golf Course Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent assists in planning, coordinating, and executing daily golf course maintenance operations, including greens, tees, fairways, and rough. The Assistant Superintendent may assume supervisory responsibilities and serve in the Golf Course Superintendent’s capacity during the Golf Course Superintendent's absence.
INITIAL PRIORITIES OF POSITION:
- Contributes to planning and supervising agronomic inputs and the maintenance of greens, tees, and fairways; schedules work and supervises employees and equipment use.
- Helps facilitate instruction to equipment operators on the operation and care of mowing and other equipment; supervises pesticide applications and/or operates and calibrates pesticide application equipment; supervises and participates in the operation and maintenance of pumps, and in the maintenance of irrigation and drainage systems.
- Assists in personnel management and evaluation, employee safety, and personnel discipline, and may also modify the daily work schedule based on professional interpretation.
Job Requirements
Agronomic
Must be able to develop and implement basic agronomic programs using primary and secondary cultural practices regarding drainage, soil structure, irrigation, fertility, pest control, height of cut, and traffic wear.
Strong technical and analytical focus to ensure optimal agronomic, water, soil, and environmental management programs.

Successful experience in similar or more challenging climates.

Chemical and Fertility
Performs routine safety inspections on all spraying and fertilizer equipment.
Maintains chemical and fertilizer storage and mixing/filling areas in compliance with county, state, and federal regulations and is responsible for the safety and direction of chemical/fertilizer handlers and/or helpers.
Responsible for properly mixing and applying herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides to associated turf grasses, trees, and ornamentals.
Manages all spray and fertilizer applications on a daily to weekly basis and reports to the DOA.
Equipment Operation & Care
Strong understanding of golf course equipment from mowers, skid-loaders, aerifiers, sprayers, and small equipment.
Ensures that the equipment cooling system is always working; refills fuel daily; cleans equipment daily, and reports equipment problems or failures to the DOA and Head Equipment Manager.
Provides basic preventive maintenance on equipment as directed by the DOA and returns equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility.
Requires working knowledge of the maintenance of golf course tees, fairways, and greens; maintenance practices for golf course turf; the planting, cultivation, pruning, and caring for plants, shrubs, and trees; the characteristics and proper use of various fertilizers and soil conditioners; herbicides and pest control methods and materials; drainage control methods; and irrigation system, including wells, pumps, and automatic controls.
Requires a valid driver’s license.
Requires current state certification or licensing as a pesticide applicator within 90 days of employment.
