Position Summary
The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent is a key leader within the Golf Course Maintenance Department and assists in planning, organizing, supervising, and executing all aspects of golf course maintenance while advancing Kohanaiki’s commitment to excellence and environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train, motivate, and mentor golf course maintenance staff.
- Coordinate daily crew assignments and monitor work quality.
- Maintain championship level conditions on greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and practice facilities.
- Assist with fertilizer, pesticide, and plant growth regulator applications.
- Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent on water management strategies.
- Utilize GPS spray technology, autonomous mowing equipment, and irrigation software.
- Support Audubon certification standards and environmental stewardship initiatives.
- Assist with budgeting, purchasing, inventory management, and payroll administration.
- Assume superintendent responsibilities in the absence of the Golf Course Superintendent.

Job Requirements
Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Knowledge of turfgrass management practices, irrigation systems, and golf course operations.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to obtain or maintain a Hawaii State Restricted Use Pesticide Applicator License.
