Position Overview
The Assistant Superintendent works closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to plan, execute, and oversee daily maintenance operations. This role is ideal for someone who is detail‑oriented, proactive, and eager to take on leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in all aspects of turfgrass management, including greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and native areas
- Lead, train, and motivate the maintenance team in daily tasks
- Oversee irrigation system operation, troubleshooting, and repair
- Apply fertilizers and pesticides in accordance with state and environmental guidelines
- Monitor course conditions and communicate needs proactively
- Operate and maintain a wide range of turf equipment
- Support planning and execution of cultural practices (aerification, topdressing, verticutting, etc.)
- Ensure safety standards and best practices are followed
- Contribute to long‑term agronomic planning and project execution

Job Requirements
Experience Requirements
• Minimum 1–3 years of golf course maintenance experience
• Experience with irrigation systems preferred
• Leadership qualities in managing a crew of maintenance workers preferred.
• Floridia pesticide application license preferred, or ability to attain one within 3 months.
• Strong understanding of warm season turfgrass management (Bermuda, Paspalum preferred)
• Experience with irrigation systems (Toro or Rain Bird helpful)
• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, holidays as needed, minimum of 55 hours per week
• Strong communication skills and a positive, team focused attitude
• Experience with irrigation systems preferred
