Salary: $60,000–$70,000
Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club is seeking a hardworking, self-motivated individual who is eager to advance their career in the golf course industry. The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent works closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and fellow Assistant Superintendent to plan, coordinate, and execute daily golf course maintenance operations and special projects.

Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club is a premier, full-service, family-oriented private club committed to providing exceptional service to its members and guests. Established in 1961, the club features a Robert Trent Jones Sr.-designed 18-hole championship golf course situated on 160 acres.
Course specifications include:
- Fairways: 419 Bermudagrass
- Tees: 419 Bermudagrass
- Greens: SR427 Bentgrass
Additional club amenities include eight tennis courts, a swimming pool, and a clubhouse.
Position Summary
The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent is primarily responsible for developing daily work schedules, supervising staff, and coordinating golf course maintenance activities to ensure the highest standards of course conditioning.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage daily departmental work schedules.
- Supervise and coordinate a maintenance staff of 20+ employees.
- Perform sprayer and fertilizer spreader calibration.
- Assist with pesticide and fertilizer applications.
- Maintain accurate records of pesticide and fertilizer applications.
- Monitor and manage irrigation and drainage systems.
- Oversee daily golf course preparation, including:
- Mowing operations
- Course setup
- Tee marker placement
- Rake placement
- Hazard stake installation
- Out-of-bounds marker placement
- Identify, assign, and complete maintenance tasks efficiently.
- Assist with special projects and long-term course improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Science, Soil Science, or a related field, with at least two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and effectively manage crews in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to lead by example.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required in a seasonal outdoor environment.
- Must obtain and maintain a state pesticide applicator license within six months of employment.
