Assistant Superintendent

Crystal Springs Resort is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to oversee the maintenance and presentation of the Minerals Hotel grounds and golf course.  This role focuses on landscape management and guest-facing aesthetics while supervising golf course agronomic operations. The position will work closely with the Superintendent and Hotel General Manager in delivering a high-quality resort experience through exceptional outdoor conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

Hotel Grounds Landscaping 

• Maintain and enhance Minerals hotel grounds, wedding gardens, landscape beds, walkways, patios, and common areas
• Execute seasonal planting programs to include flower installation, pruning, mulching & bed maintenance
• Monitor and maintain landscape irrigation systems
• Ensure all exterior and select interior areas meet resort presentation standards
• Assist with seasonal décor and event setup

Turf & Agronomic Support

• Execute turf maintenance tasks including daily mowing, trimming, grooming and general course upkeep
• Maintain irrigation system with support from Superintendents, 
• Inspect course daily and identify disease and other forms of stress
• Communicate issues and priorities with Superintendent 
• Overall fertility programs and cultural practices
• Assist with basic equipment maintenance and coordinate repair services with Superintendent
• Monitor conditions and communicate issues proactively

Leadership & Collaboration

• Supervise and assist in training grounds and landscape staff
• Perform daily scheduling, task management, and quality control
• Ensure adherence to safety and operational standards
• Partner with Hotel, Events, and Facilities teams to support property needs

Equipment & Inventory

• Assist in managing equipment, materials, and supplies
• Coordinate basic maintenance and ensure proper use of tools and products

Qualifications:

• 2–5 years of experience in landscaping, turf management, or golf course maintenance
• Knowledge of horticulture, plant care, and irrigation systems
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to property presentation
• Leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, weekends, and holidays
• Valid driver’s license (pesticide license preferred or ability to obtain)
