Assistant Superintendent
Job Details

Fenway Golf Club is consistently recognized among the Top 100 Classic Golf Courses in the United States. Designed by legendary golf course architect A. W. Tillinghast and opened in 1924, the course is renowned for its boldly sloping greens, deep bunkers, and strategically demanding landing areas that exemplify Tillinghast's timeless design philosophy.
In its ongoing commitment to preserving and enhancing this historic masterpiece, the membership retained the services of acclaimed golf course architect Gil Hanse to undertake what he described as "a gentle restoration" of the original Tillinghast design. Guided by Tillinghast's original plans and rare aerial photographs believed to date from the late 1920s, Hanse meticulously restored numerous green and bunker complexes while directing the removal of hundreds of trees to recapture the strategic sightlines and playing corridors originally envisioned by Tillinghast. Today, Gil Hanse continues to serve as Fenway's consulting architect, ensuring this historic treasure retains its architectural integrity while thoughtfully evolving for future generations.

This fall, the club will embark on an exciting phase of its long-term master plan with the reconstruction of three greens, along with additional course improvements throughout the property. These projects will provide the successful candidate with invaluable, hands-on experience in golf course construction and project management.
