RESPONSIBILITIES OF ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT

Pesticide Applications

• Tees, Fairways, rough and club grounds
• Calibration of application equipment
• Maintain up to date records involving all pesticide applications

Fertilizer Applications

• Application of plant nutrients to all turfed areas on club property
• Calibration of application equipment
• Maintain up to date records involving all nutrient applications

Irrigation system

• Operation, maintenance, and repair of all system components including valves, heads, piping, satellites, and pump stations
• Irrigation scheduling via satellites
• Hand watering during summer stress periods
• Winterization of system and pump stations

Equipment and Golf Carts

• Inform the Golf Course Superintendent of any problems with equipment and carts that require outside assistance to repair
• Maintain up to date records involving all equipment and cart maintenance
• Assist Superintendent with equipment capital improvement scheduling

• Assist Superintendent in following Management Areas

  • Staff supervision, training, and guidance. Lead by example!
  • Assist in budget and capital improvement preparation
  • Maintain all roads, cart paths, and walking paths throughout the entire year
  • Most importantly, the Assistant Superintendent is directly responsible for managing the Grounds Department in the absence of the Superintendent
