Assistant Superintendent

Riomar Country Club is seeking an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our Golf Course Maintenance team and play an important role in the care of one of Florida's most distinctive private club golf courses.

Working closely with the Golf Course Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent will help oversee the day-to-day operation of the Golf Course Maintenance Department, including course preparation, agronomic practices, irrigation, chemical applications, staff supervision, equipment, and overall course presentation.

This position is ideal for someone who is hands-on, team-oriented, eager to learn, and looking to grow their career in golf course management. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, gain exposure to all aspects of golf course maintenance, and play a meaningful role in the Club's upcoming renovation and regrassing efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Golf Course Superintendent in the daily management and operation of the Golf Course Maintenance Department.
• Help lead, train, motivate, and develop the maintenance team while fostering a positive, respectful, and accountable work environment.
• Participate in daily course setup, mowing, irrigation, fertilization, chemical applications, pest management, and general turfgrass maintenance.
• Monitor course conditions and communicate observations and recommendations to the Superintendent.
• Assist with irrigation system operation, troubleshooting, repairs, and scheduling.
• Help maintain accurate records relating to chemical applications, irrigation, maintenance activities, and inventory.
• Assist with equipment care, maintenance, and organization.
• Support compliance with all applicable safety requirements, pesticide regulations, and environmental best management practices.
• Participate in preparation for and execution of the Club's Golf Course Enhancement Project, including construction, irrigation, bunker, and regrassing activities.
• Help coordinate contractors and project partners as appropriate during renovation activities.
• Maintain high standards of course presentation, cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail.
• Perform hands-on maintenance duties alongside the team as needed.
• Contribute to a culture of teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
