Job Details
Summary
Directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf courses including tees, greens, fairways, bunkers, cart paths and the rough. Maintains playing conditions to the highest possible standards set forth by Black Mesa GC. Assumes responsibility in the absence of the Superintendent.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Directly supervises the maintenance employees and disperses daily work assignments.
- Trains new employees.
- Checks course setup and conditions daily, reports deficiencies such as disease and unhealthy turf to Superintendent.
- Maintains clear communication throughout the day with Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.
- Oversees tasks to keep maintenance facility, equipment, and tools clean and organized.
- Assists with irrigation applications, scheduling, and repairs.

The 18 holes have a USGA slope of 141 and USGA rating of 73.9 from the black tees. From the forward tees, the holes have a slope of 125 and a rating of 71.2. Black Mesa Black Mesa also offers a practice facility featuring a driving range situated so players will never find the sun in their eyes. Green fees include use of the range as well as practice green.

Job Requirements
• Knowledge of cultural practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of fertilizers, chemicals, and soil conditioners.
• Knowledge of how to operate all golf course maintenance equipment.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Detail oriented
• Strong work ethic
• Knowledge of the game of golf.
Technical school certificate or degree in agronomy, horticulture, or turf grass management preferred, and a minimum of 3-5 years of golf course experience.
Driver license required.
Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate fluently in English
Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.
